Already too much, hiding in the basement. Cousins are much younger and super annoying, 8 year old is yelling about his intention to get “gypsy married” by age 15 and that he wants to try Bud Light Lime.
My oldest cousin (16) is recovering from mono and has turned into a total bro... ugh, why?
Having my own place has made everywhere else miserable. I like my apartment, it’s where the cars are.

There’s an easy way to cure the last part, give him a bud light lime; he might even swear off alcohol forever if you give him a warm one.

No because he’s “the baby” and my aunt (who won’t discipline him) would kill me. Also, he’d tell everyone at school he got a beer and we’d all end up in jail. He’s a special breed of awful.

Being lost in NYC is kinda fun if you’re with friends, not so much alone.

Grandma is here, she hates alcohol because it lead to her brothers all fighting and eventually disowning each other. She gets really upset if there’s beer around.

my mom hates alcohol. My father and I can only have a beer during the holidays while she still nags about it. Also calls us alcoholics cause when we drink one beer. I have beer at friend’s houses to avoid this shit. This is why I can’t wait to graduate.

Yep, luckily my mom isn’t like that. I do thoroughly enjoy living/financially on my own though.

You could also just pee in a cup and add lime, same thing. I believe some states allow underage alcohol consumption at home with parental consent.

She didn’t pickup that I drink beer after two years of doing it. My old man doesn’t care, he knows I’m not stupid enough to jeopardize my license or become a homeless drunk. I generally like living on my own my mother is a complex case.

neither I nor my sister have kids, so it’s rare we have to deal with this kind of stuff at family gatherings. I’m fortunate in that the only regular big thing we have with extended family + guests (meaning a good number of kids) is Memorial Day, and that’s a cookout so it’s outside where the kids can be as noisy as they please.

Has he at least figured out that commercials aren’t real, and slathering himself with Axe isn’t going to make hot chicks throw themselves at him?
I mean, I wish I could come up with any other explanation than “he’s 16.” that’s the problem I have with having a long memory; I remember high school pretty well. I was too much of an introvert to get into much trouble (or have anything resembling a social life) but I remember what a bunch of peacocking dicks most of the other guys were. I’m glad high school is 22 years (and counting) behind me.

Bud Light Lime? I predict big things for your cousin. Maybe even a double wide.

I was a 3 season athlete and in the marching and jazz bands. I dealt with so many bros over the years, it just bothers me that someone I’m related to is such a bro.

at least you had that going for you. the primary thing high school taught me was that “friend” means “someone who hasn’t thrown you under the bus yet. ”
No, I’m not bitter, not at all. why do you ask?

I liked the sports, I didn’t enjoy the people. The band kids were my friends.

I could have concentrated on xc and track but I was so stubborn and committed to narching band to make it better and threw in my hat for drum major. My 5 page single spaced essay didn’t mean shit while the other person’s parents knew the whole school board, principal and since she lived a hard comfortable life of a divorced parents while not living the hardship of financially challenged and being not white (there was never a Hispanic leader in the history of the program). I gave up and became sour the rest of junior and senior year. I’m glad I joined xc to give a big fuck you to those pricks. Post hs I learned the band director left his family, took their bank account and disowned his out of the closet son and dates a woman half his age.
